Nepean-Carleton Inspiration Awards

The Nepean-Carleton Canada-Ontario 150 Inspiration Awards will be given to 150 residents who have been nominated by our community and who have made a significant impact to Nepean-Carleton through volunteerism, philanthropy, innovation, military service or leadership.  Recipients will be chosen based on six criteria- Role, Impact, Reach, Engagement, Overcoming Challenges and Inspiration.

 

Submitting your nomination

1) Get a nomination form – nominate someone online, visit lisamacleod.com/inspiration-awards-nomination or to submit a paper nomination, download (coming soon) and print the form or request one at lisa@lisamacleod.com
2) Explain why your nominee deserves the award by following the instructions and answering the questions listed under each of the six nomination criteria below. Do not go over the word limit for each question.
3)Get letters of support- submit at least one letter of support from someone else in the community who has direct knowledge of the nominee’s contributions. You can provide up to three letters.

Nomination criteria

The six criteria used to assess nominations are: Role, Impact, Reach, Engagement, Overcoming Challenges and Inspiration.

Role (5 points)

Briefly describe the nominee’s contributions. Explain how the nominee has shown leadership and the actions he or she has taken to address community priorities, benefited the community. Indicate the number of years the nominee has been volunteering.

Impact (15 points)

Briefly describe how nominee identified and addressed a priority in our community and how their contributions have made a lasting difference.

Reach (15 points)

Describe who benefited from the nominee’s contributions—and how many people were affected and how they were affected.

Engagement (5 points)

Describe how the nominee’s contributions sparked teamwork to address community or organizational challenges.

Overcoming Challenges (5 points)

Describe the challenges (personal, organizationally or other) that the nominee has overcome to make a contribution in our community.

Inspiration (5 points)

Describe how the nominee became a role model in our community. How did the nominee share their experience and knowledge and who did they share it with?

Recognition of Award Recipients

Recipients will receive a medallion and certificate at an Awards Ceremony after the Nomination application period closes. The Nomination application period will be between August 30-November 30 2017.
