For Immediate Release
January 21, 2010 (Nepean-Carleton) - MPP Lisa MacLeod wants new Natural Resources Minister, Linda Jeffrey to talk about the coyote infestation in her Nepean-Carleton riding by the end of January. "I am disappointed that issue has become a hot potato between both levels of government, with no real action or results for constituents in Nepean-Carleton. That's why I have asked the Minister to meet with me and City officials as well as resident to discuss the coyote infestation. I've also requested any studies on the coyote population be released. The bureaucratic shuffle has to stop." MacLeod had been working with previous Minister Donna Cansfield and had made the same request to her, however a cabinet shuffle displaced Cansfield and Jeffrey has been in the position less than one week. "The only way to fix the problem and allay the fears of my constituents is by working together- that means the City and the MNR need to step up to the plate and stop passing the buck," concluded MacLeod. - 30 - |
